Coffee along = an unnamed paved road that goes to the mouth of the Gaspereau River. = Thus there are at least three new nests in the small area from = Hortonville (2 nests) to North Grand Pre, West Long Island. An adult = female? eagle was on the nest. I measured the curved road distance from = Just Us! at 1.5 km. (b) I checked the b. eagle nest north of Avonport along the Oak Island = Road =97 the adult female eagle was on the nest rim, and twice I saw = some movement in the nest, almost certainly extended wing-tips from an = EAGLET. Lately I=92ve been guessing that some of the eagle nests = locally will have seen some hatching of eaglets since about May 1st or = earlier? (c) Highway 101 at Hortonville crosses the Gaspereau River, and just = north of there I always look for cormorants on the power-line that = crosses the river =97 today there were 13 adult double-crested = cormorants perched there, and a 14th cormorant flying along the river. (d) I checked the other new bald eagle nest at Hortonville, in the line = of poplars not far west of the Planters Monument. The female eagle was = on the nest rim and acted as if she was possibly feeding something in = the nest-cup, perhaps another eaglet? (e) I checked the b. eagle nest at Wolfville=92s Anglican Church, and as = usual the female was on the nest in incubation or brooding position.
