I was pleased this am when I saw 3 Tree Swallows wheeling about over head, obviously feeding on something. Just now I was checking on them, the temps seem to have gone down, and was startled to see a Hummingbird checking out a stand of daffodils. I do have a feeder out, the chickadees have been using it a fair bit. No photo, as yet. My camera is being persnickety these days and it may need replacing. I am not sure what to do about that. I really like this camera and I am not good at learning new things these days, heavy sigh. Other birds still coming are Woodpeckers, Downys, Hairys as well as Northern Flickers, Chickadees, Juncos, the odd Goldfinch. Sparrows; Song and White-Throateds, Robins, Blue Jays Starlings, Grackles, Red-winged Blackbirds and Mourning Doves seem to be the crew still hanging out here. There are seed cakes going out but the other feeders are down. The Grapevine and Kiwi are gone and the arbour structure as well; that is to be replaced, making the yard so different. It is interesting to watching the reactions of birds as they realize there are changes. They definitely have memories likely better than mine.
