Thanks to everyone who responded to my query about Spring Peepers. After what seemed like a long day at work, I seized the opportunity offered by the Province, and went to Sir Sandford Fleming Park in Jollimore at 7:00 p.m., and went for a walk in the wind and the rain!

The weather and the time of day were not ideal for birding, but the Spring Peepers were certainly making their presence known, as Burkhard says. I would truly feel bereft if a Spring passed without a chance to hear this spring chorus.

The other highlight was hearing and seeing an Osprey, the first I have seen this year.
> Peepers have made their presence known every evening now for at least
> the last 2 weeks.
> This near the Frog Pond/Dingle Park, Halifax.
> > It's been an odd spring in many ways, with a repeating pattern of a few lovely warm days followed by prolonged cold. There hasn't been much mention of Spring Peepers and Wood Frogs. Of course many of us don't live within walking distance of their habitat, and we aren't getting out as we usually do. However my brother reports that he has not heard any yet this spring in Bedford, and I am wondering if something has happened there, with current development.
> >
> > Given the snowy view outside my window, I'd be surprised if anyone has heard Spring Peepers in the last 24 hours, but have they been active? have you been hearing them in their usual haunts?
> >
> > Cheers,
