I wonder if the Bird Society or Nature NS would consider approaching the Medical Officer of Health with a proposal to allow a limited number of experienced birders to make specific trips to specific places, with appropriate safeguards, in order to ensure that gaps in the 2020 data are kept to a minimum. I think there's a good chance this might meet with Health Department approval, especially if you could secure the support of the Wildlife Division of Lands and Forestry.
