Hi all:

There appears to be plenty of cedar waxwings around this winter. I've been=
getting a lot of reports from people. I also had some on the Cape Sable I=
sland Christmas Bird Count in Woods Harbour on Dec. 15 and numbers on the W=
hite Point Christmas Bird Count on Dec. 16. Today David Farner and I had a=
group of 50 cedar waxwings in Brooklyn. We had some in other locations as=
well. We also had a red-throated loon off Fort Point in Liverpool. There=
were loads of song sparrows about. I especially noticed this when moving =
through Voglers Cove on the way back home. There were groups of song sparr=
ows along the road between Liverpool and LaHave and a load of dark-eyed jun=
cos whereas up till now their numbers were few and far between. I had one =
group of 33 roadside.

The western willet was at Crescent Beach this morning. No signs of the lar=
k bunting on the way back through in Green Bay, but there was a pair of Ame=
rican wigeons there. Oh yeah, lots of other birds around today also, where=
as it was hard to find birds before now.
