Every corner was more </span> <span style="font-size: 16px;">brilliant</span> <span style="font-size: 12pt;"> than the last.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">After a couple of hours we came to a shallow part where the</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">water was faster. A steady stream of Gaspereau was coming down</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">river heading to the sea. They of course were the 2019 edition. They</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">seemed to be feeding in the top of the water as they went along.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Their dinner was too small for us to see.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Small Mouth Bass were taking advantage and were feeding.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">They were chasing the little schools and making the water fly.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Quite a sight. My friend caught a few and they were in the 40 cm - 45 cm</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">range. </span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">As we watched an Eagle came up river. Its white head and tail were like highlights</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">against the fall colors and reflections. It was low - 5 m - 10 m above the water.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">As it approached the Bass stopped feeding and only the Gaspereau stayed.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Eagle circled a few times - close to the canoe and then went 400 m - 500 m</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">up river and landed it a tall pine tree. It could see the river no problem.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">A few Bass started to feed and then a few more. The Eagle saw that and came back</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">down to us. The Ba</span></span> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">ss were quiet. The Gaspereau ignored the Eagle and vice versa.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Eagle went back to its perch after circling a few times. </span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">The cycle repeated itself several time before we left. </span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">For sure the Bass could see the Eagle in the air and recognized it as danger.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">And at a considerable distance. When you live in the wild - you need be alert.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">After we paddled down to the car and home.</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Enjoy a fall paddle</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Paul</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 12pt;"> </span> </div> </body></html>
