Index of Subjects "My" Hummingbirds left with the wind and rain. I still have transients passing through. They are so quiet. I do miss the chitter. I visited with a friend down the shore on Sat. mid morning and there were warblers various coming in off the water. Several dropped down on the deck one stayed to snooze awhile. I went to check on it, it looked at me ruffled its wings then went back to sleep. for a bit then next I checked it had moved on. They were into and under everything in the garden and paid no attention to movement by people or dog. Vireos. that garden was also hosting several Monarchs and a number of Painted Ladies. Pure magic on a lovely late summer day. I have had several families with Parula Warblers on the property. One window strike that seemed to be ok when it took to air again. One Oven bird did not survive. We have decals on the new windows and fingers crossed only a couple strikes. We are working toward none, but the sun is moving faster now and it will take time to figure where warnings should go. So far we are seeing a lot fewer strikes than we had with the old windows.
