I have been checking out the RR bed W of Coldbrook (Cornwallis River Greenw=
ay) on an irregular basis for the past month with little success. Last even=
ing a few new birds were a bit encouraging: Yellow Warbler, Rose -breasted =
Grosbeak ( a pair with the male singing) and a Veery calling. I was a bit s=
urprised at the latter since it was early to me, especially in view of the =
cold weather.
Two hummingbirds arrived May 11, A female fed continually but was harassed =
by another swooping and diving. We have yet to see the other well enough to=
identify it but presume it is a male!
