One of the unoccupied sites was at the New Minas Sewage Ponds, where I also found two sleeping male n. shovelers with a single male scaup, tentatively identified from the green irridescence on the head to be a greater scaup. I also saw a single flying male goldeneye sp. and one flying white-winged gull, probably an Iceland gull? The above ducks etc. were on Wed., March 20/19. Today, March 25, there was an uncounted flock of Canada Geese in corn stubble just south of the river bridge at Port Williams. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
