Sparrows = included Song, White-throated, American Tree and a Fox. Still Blue Jays = come. Chickadees, juncos and American Goldfinches are coming but far = less often and fewer. A few Starlings show up from time to time and = Robins have returned. There is only 4 or 5 inches of soil before we hit = the frost so worms may be in short supply. The first Grackle of the = season showed up this morning.=20 There are a number of Squirrels about still, the well rounded one seems = to be missing. Is it too early for babies?=20 A Chipmunk came to see what was being offered this morning for the first = time since winter settled in.=20 =20 There are Snow Drops blooming.=20 We took a drive to Ragged Harbour this pm and there we saw a pair of = Black Ducks that seemed attached to a spot in the marsh. It was pretty = quiet there.=20 Lovely to walk on the beach for a bit. There was a variety of flies on = the beach, some quite small, others much large. Not a bird on the beach = while we were there but two lovely dogs walked off as we arrived to go = on.
