Some of you may have read about the Bicknell’s Thrush research done this summer in N Cape Breton using songmeters placed at sites for over a month to pick up the sporadically singing Bicknell’s Thrush (Bird Studies Canada Fall issue of Birdwatch). I contacted the researcher, Amy-Lee Kouwenberg, and she shared some very preliminary results: Singing Bicknell’s were recorded at three sites for sure thus far! This is good to hear as there was only one NS report this summer that I am aware of. I also love the noninvasive nature of this study. Nancy D Sent from my iPad
