The winter bird = listing seems to be going well to very well in all of Eastern Canada. Ontar= io is the province we come closest too in the number of species we get on t= he WBL every year. We ticked 4 more species than Ontario last year though t= he year prior they ended up with 17 more which was an unusually high differ= ence between us. As well as it is going for us this year so far, I think we= could use some sustained westerlies so that we may pick up more of the 161= species they have added to their WBL already! That is only 39 species less= than they ended with last year. New Brunswick was at 113 species and Newfo= undland & Labrador 93 on their last updates. Winter Bird List (WBL) runs from Dec 1 =96 to Feb 29 Depth of Winter List (DOWL) runs from Feb 28 We are going to just stick with the same spreadsheets for now though I hope= to at least update to a more pleasing colour set at some point. Peter will= have the spreadsheets up a bit later.
