I=92ll be tracking the progress of the b= irds reported to eBird, NS-RBA, NatureNS and will rely on others to keep me= updated about any personal sightings or Facebook exclusives. Once again Peter Brannon has generously agreed to handle our website updat= es. For anyone looking to see the finest of bird photography, check out Pet= er=92s Flickr page. Peter primary posts Florida birds but he has some Nova = Scotia birds posted in his albums as well. I don=92t know the Flickr stats = on this but there probably now many photographers on Flickr that get their = pics promoted to Flickr=92s Explorer page as much as Peter. https://www.flickr.com/photos/peterbrannon/ We had a good year last year when we ticked 204 species which was eight mor= e than our average of 196. Our Depth of Winter List (DOWL) runs concurrentl= y with the last month of the WBL where we track February only species. Last= year we had 150 which was 2 beyond our average of 148 species. Winter Bird List (WBL) runs from Dec 1 =96 to Feb 29 Depot of Winter List (DOWL) runs from Feb 28 We were hoping to update the gaudy colours of WBL spreadsheet but it is not= done yet. We may start out with the old spreadsheet and switch to a more p= leasing one soon. For more info and history or to download the full spreadsheet , visit our W= inter Bird List page at the Nova Scotia Bird Society website. https://www.nsbirdsociety.ca/library/resources/the-birds-of-winter Keith Lowe --_000_DM6PR02MB53243CDC03946930D9C6E0C8B0D30DM6PR02MB5324namp_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="Windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html xmlns:o=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w=3D"urn:sc= hemas-microsoft-com:office:word" xmlns:m=3D"http://schemas.microsoft.com/of= fice/2004/12/omml" xmlns=3D"http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40"> <head> <meta http-equiv=3D"Content-Type" content=3D"text/html; charset=3DWindows-1= 252"> <meta name=3D"Generator" content=3D"Microsoft Word 15 (filtered medium)"> <style><!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:"Cambria Math"; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4;} @font-face {font-family:Calibri; panose-1:2 15 5 2 2 2 4 3 2 4;} @font-face {font-family:Verdana; panose-1:2 11 6 4 3 5 4 4 2 4;} @font-face {font-family:Georgia; panose-1:2 4 5 2 5 4 5 2 3 3;} @font-face {font-family:"} @font-face {font-family:inherit;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {mso-style-priority:99; color:blue; text-decoration:underline;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {mso-style-priority:99; color:#954F72; text-decoration:underline;} p.xmsonormal, li.xmsonormal, div.xmsonormal {mso-style-name:x_msonormal; mso-margin-top-alt:auto; margin-right:0in; mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto; margin-left:0in; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;} span.markh83kvvwyv {mso-style-name:markh83kvvwyv;} span.mark15m53gk1a {mso-style-name:mark15m53gk1a;} .MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only;} @page WordSection1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.0in 1.0in 1.0in;} div.WordSection1 {page:WordSection1;} --></style> </head> <body lang=3D"EN-US" link=3D"blue" vlink=3D"#954F72"> <div class=3D"WordSection1"> <p class=3D"xmsonormal" style=3D"mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;ma= rgin-bottom:12.0pt;margin-left:0in;line-height:14.65pt"> I=92ll p<span style=3D"font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Georgia",ser= if;color:#212121">ost this first message to NS-RBA and NatureNS but for the= rest of the season I will only post updates to NatureNS<o:p></o:p></span><= /p> <p class=3D"xmsonormal" style=3D"mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;ma= rgin-bottom:12.0pt;margin-left:0in;line-height:14.65pt;orphans: 2;-webkit-t= ext-stroke-width: 0px;word-spacing:0px"> <span style=3D"font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif;color= :#212121">The Winter Bird List (WBL) starts tomorrow and continues until th= e end of December where we see how many different species we can collective= ly tick for Nova Scotia during that period .
