Dear All,
Yield records of the seven Black currant bushes in the yard show=20
2018 to be the runt as follows; 2014 10 L, 2015 11 L, 2016 16.5 L, 2017=20
7.75 L and 2018 about 1L. They are consistently cut back severely just=20
after fruiting each year and dressed with sawdust or wood chips to=20
discourage weeds. Vegetative growth this summer is spectacular and=20
likely a consequence of scant bloom and poor set.

Except for one day, when calm warm conditions coincided with many=20
blossoms and much Bee activity, the yard has typically been unusually=20
quiet; worst ever dropping to zero recently until I watered some of the=20
Knapweed which briefly generated feeble activity.
Also Bee activity in North Alton has been low. I hope 2017-2018 is=20
not the forerunner of a trend.
Yt, DW, Kentville
