Index of Subjects I vote for black cherry. The leaves look too long for choke cherry. -----Original Message----- From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca <naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca> On Behalf Of NancyDowd Sent: June 11, 2018 12:06 PM To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Subject: [NatureNS] Which Cherry? Offhand I would have said this small tree was a Chokecherry (Prunus virginiana). But after checking I see it is more likely a Black Cherry (P. serotina) based on the leaves being fully out while in flower and the length of the hanging flower clusters. Which ID is correct? As the captions say, the leaves are ~3” long. https://www.flickr.com/photos/150605880@N07/27867176277/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/150605880@N07/42686769842/in/dateposted-public/ Thanks, Nancy E Dalhousie, Kings Co.
