A Field Sparrow was singing on the Ross Durkee Road in Sandford, Yarmouth
County, today, 9 June, about 0.5 km southwest from the fishing wharf. I had
a singing bird at Cape Forchu on 21 May. I believe we are still waiting for
a confirmed breeding record of this species in Nova Scotia. A recording of
the Sandford bird can be heard here:
