Dear All,
Today I saw an unusually large Garter Snake in North Alton; at least=20
3' long. This was close to six tier of wood, which have been there all=20
winter, and all of these would function as good shelters and perhaps=20
food sources if snakes can hunt in the dark.
I watched a "Horse Hair Worm" gyrating constantly, in a brook-side=20
pool for several minutes, after I stopped to get a better look at a=20
small Wood Frog. It was still gyrating when I left. Apart from some that=20
came up in the water bucket, when we had a dug well, this is only the=20
second HHW I have noticed. The other was in a wet Goldenrod in the=20
garden on a dull showery day many decades ago.
