Observed my first spring 2018, Coltsfoot in bloom on April 12. Several =
are located along the eroding, south-facing slopes along Blue Beach Road =
near Avonport.=20

=20

About a week age, in the same vicinity, Pussy Willows are showing =
nicely.=20

=20

Also, April 11th, I=E2=80=99ve observed male alder catkins shedding =
pollen when disturbed, and the female "flower structures" on the same =
branch are well developed, and showing their reddish colour and =
stickiness.

As you drive past exit 17-A as you climb the hill heading toward =
Liverpool there are long stretches of coltsfoot in bloom at the shoulder =
edge. oh and two GB Herons in at the Meadow Pond as you drive out of =
Liverpool.=20

Dear All,=20

    Today, Apr 11, Coltsfoot was blooming near the east waterline =
entrance off of Prospect St. (by Kentville water tower), on very short =
scapes. A few flies visiting but too cold for bee activity. Dandelion =
scapes are also short in cold weather.=20
