Hi Eric, All,

In the winter 2014 NSBirds you would have seen a cropped version of the
upper photo shown here:

In 2014 I felt the gray female might be borealis, but Ian said "intergrade"
as quoted at link.

There are 161 photos of birds IDed as borealis on Macaulay Library that
show some interesting variation. Anyone who wants to look for this
subspecies could spend some useful time there.
