The second monthly meeting of the newly-founded South Shore Field Naturalis=
ts will be held on Tuesday, March 20:

Time: 7pm

Place: Lunenburg Seaport, 15 Lincoln Street, Lunenburg (look for the green =
store-front, just a few doors toward downtown from the Knot Pub - which is =
great place to de-brief afterward)

Programme: a talk on Piping Plovers in Nova Scotia by Sue Abbott, Nova Scot=
ia Program Coordinator with Bird Studies Canada.

Within a few days to a couple of weeks at most, Piping Plovers will return =
to some of our beaches. For several years, Sue Abbott has organized sur=
veys, research and protection directed at saving this iconic little plover =
in Nova Scotia. This is an opportunity to hear the latest about one of the =
province's most threatened bird species.
