--_000_CY4PR13MB1431AD09C2B6821C03EC75D9B0C10CY4PR13MB1431namp_ Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable We picked up 2.5 species for the DoWL which brings us to 144, 10 short of o= ur record breaking DoWL last year. The half species was Rick Whitman notici= ng that the photographed Savanah Sparrow that Robert and Sandi Keereweer at= Grand Pr=E9 on the 19th was an Ipswich, which Ian confirmed. Addition(s) to the WBL and DoWL Addition(s) to the DoWL Hermit Thrush =96 Rita Viau, Lower Sackville. Nicely photographed and still= looking quite chipper. Pine Grosbeak =96 Nancy Dowd, Lakeview, Kings County. Phew=85our last missi= ng 10 out of 10 species. Here are some of our biggest misses far followed by how many times the spec= ies has made the DoWL in the 10 years it had been tracked. Note that the Do= WL was not tracked in 2009/10 so I=92m not counting that year. Baltimore Oriole (9 out of 10) American Coot (9 out of 10) Swamp Sparrow (8 out of 10) Dickcissel (8 out of 10) Ruddy Turnstone (7 out of 10) The Winter Bird List (WBL) counts species from December, January and Februa= ry and are noted by a =93X=94 in the column on the spreadsheet. The Depth of Winter List (DoWL) counts species from February only and are n= oted with =93*X*=94. NatureNS does not allow me to link to our winter bird page directly but you= can find it following the directions at the link below where you can view = and/or download the WBL spreadsheet. The downloaded version contains more y= ears of data. There may be a short delay before the spreadsheet gets uploaded but for mor= e info or to view the WBL list or to download the full version of the WBL s= preadsheet, visit our Winter Birds page under Library at http://nsbirdsocie= ty.ca/ Keith Lowe --_000_CY4PR13MB1431AD09C2B6821C03EC75D9B0C10CY4PR13MB1431namp_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="Windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html xmlns:o=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w=3D"urn:sc= hemas-microsoft-com:office:word" xmlns:m=3D"http://schemas.microsoft.com/of= fice/2004/12/omml" xmlns=3D"http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40"> <head> <meta http-equiv=3D"Content-Type" content=3D"text/html; charset=3DWindows-1= 252"> <meta name=3D"Generator" content=3D"Microsoft Word 15 (filtered medium)"> <style><!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:"Cambria Math"; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4;} @font-face {font-family:Calibri; panose-1:2 15 5 2 2 2 4 3 2 4;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {mso-style-priority:99; color:blue; text-decoration:underline;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {mso-style-priority:99; color:#954F72; text-decoration:underline;} .MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only;} @page WordSection1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.0in 1.0in 1.0in;} div.WordSection1 {page:WordSection1;} --></style> </head> <body lang=3D"EN-US" link=3D"blue" vlink=3D"#954F72"> <div class=3D"WordSection1"> <p class=3D"MsoNormal">We picked up 2.5 species for the DoWL which brings u= s to 144, 10 short of our record breaking DoWL last year.
