According to DU Mallard/Pintail hybrids are the most common combo in North A=
merica. http://www.ducks.org/conservation/waterfowl-research-science/waterfo=
wl-hybrids

I haven=E2=80=99t seen reports of this hybrid but it has been observed accor=
ding to McLaren=E2=80=99s All the Birds of Nova Scotia. He also mentions the=
rise in N Pintail numbers during the Winter and early Spring (this I have n=
oticed) so we likely will be seeing more Mallard/Pintails in future.=20
