Index of Subjects The sun is just coming out here. Lots of bird speak today! Every one has something to add to the chorus. Still here we have the solitary Catbird who has made it very plain green grapes are the fav. on the menu. We get the big ones and they get tucked away into knots in the grapevine. The Squirrels for the most part leave them alone. They have been spoken to and they appear to be listening. There are a couple American Tree sparrows from time to time, my regular White Throats and Song as well. The large numbers of Junocs seems to be moving out although we have some. Chickadee numbers seem to be consistent, at times upwards of 20 or more. We have 3 or 4 Blue Jays depending on the time of the day. The other morning I checked the apple trees and there, a solitary Robin. For many years we had a Robin, it started out from our property and we nursed it through a couple winters) (we think it was the same bird from how it reacted to us) we looked for it and it would return about this time and stay until spring when we didn't worry about feeding it anymore. One year there were two. Then back to one. We always put apples out under the trees and it warms our hearts to see them being over. There are a few starlings about, oh and the Red Winged Blackbird still visits several times a day. We have two Red bellied Nuthatches today. 9 big crows patrol the neighbourhood arriving several times a day to closely inspect the feeders.
