Index of Subjects We just cut it across in and lay the pieces out. Some go in the grapevine, others go on a stump. It seems the riper the better, Nancy. We get them off the reduced shelf. Juncos and some of the other small birds seem to like the gooey center, I suppose for moisture? The Catbirds, the Mockingbird just plow into the flesh with their beaks. Strangely the Jays and RW Blackbird don't approach it. When fresh grapes went out this pm, the Catbird went for them (I saw only one this pm) so back and forth. Catbird told a squirrel not to mess with either. Not quite a shy a bird as I thought! ............................................................................ How do you serve up the cantaloupe to the birds? Halves impaled on a spike or bracket or? Must try this out. Nancy
