There seemed to have been a migration influx of dark-eyed juncos today.  Th=
ey were everywhere I went at both feeders and roadside.  Numbers ranged fro=
m two to 20 in the groups that I saw.  These birds also showed a marked inc=
rease at my feeders at home.  So I saw them from LaHave to Riverport, in Ro=
se Bay, First South, in Garden Lots, Loads through the Indian Path Road and=
 groups between LaHave and Bridgewater.  Prior to today I had a job to loca=
te this species, this is why I think large numbers arrived from somewhere.

Since they lack teeth, I believe all birds need grit to grind up or
predigest their food.  Perhaps there are some exceptions?
