Index of Subjects They have been nicely overwintering down Yarmouth way for well over a decade! -----Original Message----- From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca] On Behalf Of Bev Wigney Sent: January 19, 2018 11:21 AM To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Subject: [NatureNS] Turkey Vulture at Round Hill I've been meaning to post about this for awhile now. For the past several weeks. I've been seeing a lone Turkey Vulture from time to time -- usually flying low in front of my property near the bridge over Round Hill Brook. In summer, there are several that fly together over Round Hill Lane (there is a poultry farm out on the Pré Rond) and often drift down toward Bishop Park. The rest must have moved on for the winter, but this one stayed behind -- perhaps unwilling or unable to fly far. Yesterday, I was reminded that it was still around when I saw it flying on the east side of the brook, out of the trees and over 201, being fiercely pursued by a Crow. I wasn't sure if it would find enough to eat to survive the winter, but it must be finding some sustenance in the area. Bev Wigney Round Hill, NS
