Hello:
     I don't know about gulls but for some 30-40  (50 ?) years I had a=20
Bayberry (Myrica pensylvanica) which I had planted east of the garden.=20
And every winter Crows feasted there until every berry was gone. Due to=20
good growing conditions it got to be quite tall (>6') but evntually=20
died.
