There was a raft of at least 30 Buffleheads on L Torment today. Stopping off on their route to the coast from their breeding grounds I guess. Not a usual sight on this lake. I also heard my first large honking flock of Canada Geese this Fall on the lake early this morning. Presumably these are also a group migrating from the North? (If any geese actually still follow the old ways).
