HELP!!

My husband was talking to a friend by the side of the house a few days ago
when he was attacked by a bumble bee. It wouldn't leave him alone. It
followed him into the house and we finally had to kill it. Then, I read on
FB that a similar attack had happened to someone else, while she was mowing
her lawn. She was stung twice.

Well, we figured that Dave had disturbed them. We found a nest under the
siding near where he was standing. Possibly, the woman mowing had gone over
a nest in the ground?

Today, eating our lunch on the deck, another bumble bee attacked. When we
ran into the house it followed, but we managed to shoo it out. Then, it
flew at the screens, trying to get back in!!

Just now, Dave was at the other end of the garden; and he got attacked
again!

We have photographed the bees, but we can't identify them. We can send the
photos to anyone who can help. The abdomen is black, hairy. The thorax a
light yellow with thick hairs. Face, black. Two wings, we think, but we're
not sure.

We don't know what to do. We've been so happy to see them, working the
flowers in our yard, up to now. Suggestions welcome.

Jane and Dave Schlosberg
