I understand that one of the big drug = companies did develop a vaccine against Lyme almost twenty years ago. = Some folks got arthritis, blamed the vaccine, and launched lawsuits. = The company withdrew the vaccine, and now we are looking at a developing = public health problem which threatens to become very serious. =20 From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca = [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca] On Behalf Of = rita.paul@ns.sympatico.ca Sent: August 8, 2017 10:06 AM To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Subject: Re: [NatureNS] RE: Black-legged Tick and late fall =20 I agree with Kevin - and have had dozens also.=20 I wonder if we develop an immunity to their bites. There is talk of a vaccine but if the body didn't develop an immunity a vaccine would be useless. When either species bite me now a little red welt appears and disappears quickly - something like a wasp sting of which I've had a number!
