I've had singing males of many warbler spe= cies here, some just passing through, but others seems to be on territory, = including Blackburnian, Chestnut-sided, Black-throated Green, Yellow and th= e early ones such as Yellow-rump, Redstart, Black-and-white and Palm). The f= irst females just started showing up (not counting a pair of Common Yellowt= hroats who seem to have found a nesting territory already). The Alder Flyca= tchers are calling this morning as well as Pewee. So sad to hear about the clear-cut. Devastating approach to forestry we hav= e in Nova Scotia. In less than ten years it will be a good secondary growth= patch, but meantime many species will arrive to find their home territory = wiped out.
