Hello Nancy,

Try this site: http://macphailwoods.org/nursery/  This nursery specializes
in propagating native species.  They have a generic section on propagation
here:
http://macphailwoods.org/nursery/planting-guide/propagating-native-plants/
with specific recommendations for many species on the species pages, but
unfortunately not for Red Maple.  Perhaps you could contact them for
advice.

Are there any seedlings under your mother's trees?  If so, these could be
transplanted.
