At a glance one might think the increased cost of exporting might temper
the extraction of woodstuffs from Canadian forests, but of course it is
more complicated than that.

For example, according to this CBC article, J.D. Irving is (effectively)
exempt from the tariffs. They will enjoy a ~17% advantage over their
Canadian competitors for the US market share, so one might expect them to
buy up lands from producers that weren't so lucky, and carry on with
extraction and exports as per the status quo.

I'd be curious to hear comments of others in this group that are more
in-the-know than I.
