The first organisation, BWW, designated April 7 as International Beaver Day back in 2009 - the birth date of their founder, Dorothy Richards. You can find everything you would ever want to know about beavers on their website: http://www.beaversww.org/ "*Beavers: Wetlands & Wildlife* (BWW) is an educational non-profit that has been helping people learn about this keystone species, and find win-win solutions for beaver problems, for over thirty years. Although BWW is based in New York, their work has included consulting and giving programs nationwide as well as internationally. The organization created* International Beaver Day* that celebrates the animal engineers on April 7 each year." N.B. They have managed to get the beaver to be an official part of the U.S. national strategy to adapt to climate change! *A Climate Change Adaptation and Beaver Management Team was formed in 2014 as part of a U.S. national strategy for adjusting to the impacts climate change.* The *Animal Alliance of Canada* also has an excellent and very thorough Manual on their website that includes how to make the *Flexible Pond Leveler**=E2=84=A2* (invented by Michel Leclair of Gatineau, Quebec): https://www.animalalliance.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Beaver-Manual_May-= 2016.pdf Leclair is one of the "Beaver Whisperers" celebrated in a *Nature of Things *2014 documentary of that name, still available for viewing at: http://www.cbc.ca/player/play/2363148703 Happy Beaver Day!
