A few years ago John I came home late - for me! - and=20

there was a Bobcat in my driveway a few meters from the house.=20

It looked susprised to see me and took off!

Another moonlight winter night I heard a racket on the back steps.

I looked out and a coyote was trying to upset the barbeque!=20

When I turned on the light it had other plans and disappeared

in a flash.

I have a good Bobcat story but my fingers are not up to=20

telling it here!

Enjoy the last of February.

Paul

Hi Heather and all,

That is an interesting tale about the animals among us. I had a similar =
surprise recently. After the blizzard in mid-February, I found Bobcat =
tracks going across my deck. While I=E2=80=99m in a rural area, it was =
nonetheless unexpected to see what I consider to be an elusive animal so =
close to my house. At least I know why I haven=E2=80=99t seen the usual =
snowshoe hares around the property lately.

I had the feeling that I lived in the north woods last evening. At 4:30 =
am I was awake and what felt like 100 feet away, a coyote started to =
howl. He/she did it about eight times and it was very loud. I figured it =
must be mating season and this one was calling to let another coyote =
know he or she was in town and available. I was shocked by the howling =
because I live near a green belt near the 102 highway up at the top of =
Clayton Park. I know there are lots of animals up here but still to =
hear the howling, I have to say that was a surprise. Heather Drope =
Marchione
