I'm quite fond of 'Slow Death by Rubber Duck' by Smith and Laurie.

Long title: How the Toxic Chemistry of Everyday Life Affects our Health

The authors take you along with case studies and some experiments on
themselves (or so-called 'body burden' tests) about everything from
brominated upholstery to microwaveable plastics.
