Dept. of Fisheries stream sur= vey in Queens County. At some point during the summer, we were boating acr= oss the headpond below Rossignol, in order to check out Kempton Brook. A little dark bird swimming on the pond took o= ff as we approached. I tentatively reported it to Phyllis Dobson as a Wils= on=E2=80=99s. Later on the same day, as we were having lunch well upstream (What brook? = No water, by that point!) we got visited by a very tame pine grosbeak.
