They have = zero chance odf getting back to the water unless you physically bring = them to the ocean and toss them in the air over the water. You can toss = them over land 100 times and they will just flutter to the ground. I = always release them at dusk as they are nocturnal and also prone to gull = predation if you let them go in the daylight.=20 =20 There's nothing you can feed them in captivity and it's best to handle = them with gloved hands as even hand oils can interrupt their very = sensitive waterproofing.
