An osprey fl= ew up river about 3  - 4 meters</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">above the water.it didn't like the look of = me or the bridge, gave out a loud squawk</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">and flew up over he bridge and continued fishin= g on the other side.</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">At lunch time I went to a bench overlooking the= water. Nearby there is an Elm tree</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">first time I noticed it. Not big - maybe 10 - 1= 2 cm diameter at chest height so</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">it probably started after the park was establis= hed. A very nice tree and the first</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">I've ever seen in Keji. Several oaks have h= ad this year crop of leaves chewed</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">of by some insect. One tree had 90% gone wherea= s a tree across the road had a</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">full load. A second crop of leaves will probabl= y come out.</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">The cool day and the brisk wind keep mosquitos = and black flies home but</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">there was lots of dragon flies. The only id wer= e Jewelwings. Saw 3 or 4 - the</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">cool temperature made them inactive but they we= re my first this year. On the way</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">home as the sun set a swarm of flies like Paul&= #39;s video were on the road back lite</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">by the setting sun. I am no further ahead in th= eir id than from the video!</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">One of the days highlights was a Blandings Turt= le crossing the road in front</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">of me. It took awhile so I got the camera out a= nd got a good picture. She didn't</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">seem to mind - pretty thing. A little further o= n was a Ruffed Grouse with at least</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">6 chicks. They were small - looked like a few d= ays old. but real active.</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">When I got to a favorite fishing spot a show of= rain started. Nothing can be more</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">lovely than being on a small brook in a shower = of rain with the trout anxious</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">to take the fly. Nice Nova Scotia Brook  T= rout - about 25 cms - real beauties.</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">The rain lasted about 20 minutes and when it st= opped the trout lost their desire</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">for my fly. But that was enough for me. A Golde= n Shiner also took the fly.</p>=20 </div>=20 <div>=20 <p class=3D"MsoNormal">Not a bragging fish but interesting.
