I was out in the yard last evening and a large falcon flew overhead.
It flew over again today at 12:30 low enough for mew to see that it was a
Peregrine Falcon.
It seems strange for it to appear in my location as I am in the heart of
the Valley approx 12 km from the coast.

My Eastern Wood Peewees arrived overnight a week later than last year.
I was getting concerned as to their welfare as they have been in our little
woodlot each spring since we moved here 3 years ago.
I played a recording this morning to see if they had arrived and two flew
in, one of which responded to the call. I've no need to use the call
anymore.

Also noteworthy in the woodlot and its' alder brook area this morning:
3 Male Chestnut-sided Warblers
1 pair Black and White Warblers
Veerys- at least 6 seen or heard
Ovenbirds at least 4 seen or heard
1 male Common Yellowthroat
3 Yellow warblers
male and female Rose-breasted Grosbeaks
( the full list was submitted to e-bird)
