The bank faces<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">south and it is well protected by woods. On the bank a bed of Rhodora<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">was already in bloom. First I've seen this year but its a warm little corner.<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">There was a group of bumble bees perhaps 8 in the flowers and they<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">were singing a happy tune. The sounds of summer!<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">A group of Damselflies were there also, mostly sitting on branches of the trees.<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">They were almost transparent in colour. The best I could ID them was as <br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">Spreadwings. Not sure of the exact species but perhaps someone can<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">give us a better guess.<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">There was also some Bee Flies - not unusual where there are Bumble Bees.<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">At the bridge over the Mersey at the Keji campgrounds there was a flock of <br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">swallows hawking flies. Looked like Tree and Barn. The water is too high</span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">to walk under the bridge so couldn't see nests but the  Barn Swallows were looking thing over.<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">There was no swallows or swifts at the Eel Weir in spite of lots of flies and I waited til near<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">nine just to see. Cadis flies started ovipostoin about 7 and that attracted the fish<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">for supper. There was a lot of little flies that wanted to feed on my forehead<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">but I didn't bother to id them!<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">A pair of Sharp-shinned Hawks sailed by - just over the tree tops. They stayed<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">about 2 - 3 m apart and kept close together. They sure are agile.<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">A great day - made me sad to leave.<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">Enjoy the spring<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">Paul<br/></span> </div> <div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;"> </span> </div> </body></html>
