On the route that I covered I was able to come up with 66 species. I had 1=
2 species of warblers. Nothing rare, but goodly numbers of most bird speci=
es. At the farm on the end of Second Peninsula, Glenn Rhodenizer told me t=
hat a bobolink had first arrived there a week ago. On the morning of May 1=
4, it had been calling from on top of a telephone pole. Glenn also saw an =
American pipit on the cultivated field on that day. A killdeer with four e=
ggs was pointed out to me. Glenn had roped the nest site off with electric=
fencing to keep the cattle away.
