One to two great horned owls dri= ft up around the house every evening, and usually at last one is still surv= eying things at the dawn=E2=80=99s early light. From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca] = On Behalf Of Richard Stern Sent: April 18, 2016 9:02 AM To: NatureNS Subject: [NatureNS] Benjamin's Mills owl route We ( Myself, Bernard Forsythe, Rick Whitman and Jake Walker) did the route = last night. It goes up the Avon River valley behind Falmouth, then up into = the hills along a logging dirt road. We started off seeing Bernard's backya= rd Barred owl before starting off . It was clear, slight breeze and the tem= p dropped to 2C. We heard 1 Gt. Horned and 2 Saw- whets, and had good looks= at a Barred that flew overhead in response to the tape. There were also 3 = Woodcock and we saw 1 Snowshoe hare that looked very white. Plenty of peepe= rs and Wood frogs calling.
