MAR. 24, 2016 - Barb Moore of Evangeline Beach told me she still (for =
weeks if not months) has her male TOWHEE (I still have not quizzed her =
as to eastern vs. spotted). To get to her home, drive across the Grand =
Pre dykeland, turn right at the T-junction onto East Long Island, then =
north (left) on Pheasant Road, to Sandpiper Lane. The cottage there =
belongs to Joan & Bob Bearne, and Barb Moore lives in the next house to =
the west (left). She thinks her towhee also forages in the yards and =
feeders adjacent to her home (all private, of course).=20

=20

Today Lisa Eye (north of Port Williams along lower Church St.) told me =
=E2=80=9Cher=E2=80=9D bald eagle nest now has an adult eagle in apparent =
incubation position in the nest (but probably no eggs there yet?), plus =
her mate often perched nearby. She also reports a huge occupied raven =
nest to the south of her home.=20

=20

As of yesterday, still no sign of bald eagle occupancy of the Noggins =
Farm Market nest.

=20

Pat & I live in the yellow apartment building along Woodman Road, =
adjacent to Tideways Retirement Complex in east-end Wolfville. The =
northeast corner of our building has Sylvia Holmes=E2=80=99s bird =
feeders, where her customers include a large flock of goldfinches, with =
at least one pine siskin today, + song sparrows, mourning doves, =
starlings, occasional cardinals and tree sparrows, etc. (rock pigeons, =
crows, ravens and eagles as fly-bys). Lately we have had robins nearby =
for at least a week and occasional cedar waxwings.

=20

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
