Index of Subjects A Red-bellied Woodpecker was calling ("querr") and drumming in the woods here this morning. Are these becoming fairly common breeding birds in parts of NS? A male Purple Finch was belting out what the Sibley's app calls its extended song yesterday from the treetops. I read that this song type is one they use most often in early Spring. It really does go on and on for quite some time. Nancy D E Dalhousie, Kings Co.
