However, I am really happy with how such folks (and their nearest and= dearest) are opening up publicly since Oct. 19. I speculate that Tony Turner (he of =93Harperman=94 fame) felt a collision happen between his professional =93ethics=94 and his personal ethics and fe= lt obliged to listen to his still, small voice. Good for him, to put it mildly. Sometimes in the course of work, we run into issues where discretion is usually the better part of valour, and others where we have to decide whether a difficult choice amounts to laudable whistle-blowing or less laudable trouble-making. The definitive text hasn=92t been written on that= , yet, and probably never will be. Each of us needs omniscience to know what= to do, every time. As an example, I have the feeling that Edgar Snowden was a well-intentioned= , na=EFve whistle-blower (who still went too far, under the circumstances), b= ut that Julian Assange has been a less laudable deliberate trouble-maker. Here endeth the philosophical rambling, for now! Additionally, there are these utube videos (links below). They =91say it all=92. I trained as a Park Warden with K= evin Van Tigum back in 1993 in Jasper; a very gifted man and excellent naturalist, too. Those of us who are still in the system have been warned to be careful. Sending this email is questionable. Maybe things will change now, but Canadians need to remain vigilant on how THEIR national parks are run, and speak out when they feel the mandate is being ignored. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DtGmlqGPMQ_k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D1qZFT9D8Vpk From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca] On Behalf Of John and Nhung Sent: February-06-16 7:56 PM To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Subject: RE: [NatureNS] re no-go! for Never Forgotten Mother Canada Memoria= l That is what needs to be said, and what troubles me is that this has not been invoked as a reason for stepping back from the project. I have been against this from the get-go on account of the proposed location plus the size and garishness of the whole idea. Thanks for everyone=92s comments. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
