Visitors to the NSBS site will notice a new entry under the Library menu
heading: Where to Bird (in Nova Scotia). This page is intended to be the
digital home of birding site information in Nova Scotia. It is my goal that
you will share your knowledge of birding sites you know well to amass a
large list of sites with rich, up-to-date birding information. Hopefully
this collective effort will grow into a duly indispensable resource for
local and visiting birders!

The page consists of an introductory preamble followed by an embedded
Google map of the province that I have populated with place marks that
correspond to the sites detailed in Blake Maybank's *Birding Sites of Nova
Scotia*, complete with county and route reference codes. Finally, there is
a listing of sites by county, which at the moment stands at only two sites:
Antigonish Sewage Lagoons, that I created as an example, and Hartlen Point,
written by Dave Currie:

If you would like to be a contributor, send me an email with the site(s)
you would like to write up, and I'll insert a "coming soon" entry under the
appropriate county. Site descriptions can include bird lists, birding
strategies, directions, physical geography, photos, fauna and flora,
historical significance, or really anything you think would enrich the
birding experience. I will embed a zoomed-in map, and a link to the
corresponding eBird hotspot, if it exists. If you have a birding site to
contribute that is not on the map, just let me know where it is and what
it's called, and I'll add it.

Feedback is much appreciated. Let's get this project started!
