The province had a Progressive Conservative government then, and all the three main political parties supported it in the legislature. And it received suport from subsequent NDP and Liberal governments, so no single party can claim credit for it. </div> <div>     On the other hand the week between X-mas and New Year's is generally as slow news week, so the announcement may get more coverage in the media than expected.
