Has anyone else had an abundance of Assassin Beetles (Reduviida) around the=
ir homes lately?I have rarely noticed them in the past but for the past 3 w=
eeks there have been several on my house and decking. Kind of a creepy but =
interesting bug. Apparently some types of Assassin Beetles can inflict a na=
sty bite.Have pics if anyone wishes to ID the variety..
On Sunday we had a vibrantly coloured but flightly American Lady Butterfly =
feeding on our remaining butterfly bush flowers. Haven't seen it since. Did=
 get pics.
Had a Swainson's Thrush make an appearance in our woods yesterday. It was a=
calm bird allowing for easy viewing and a few mediocre pics.
