Hi David (and David)... I reported a single P. japonica, found and photographed at Roaches = Pond in Spryfield (nowhere near the train station or Westin Hotel!) to = Andrew Hebda at the NS Museum last year (see = http://imaginaturestudio.blogspot.ca/2014/09/an-unpleasant-discovery.html= for the whole sordid story). This year I found another single beetle at the same site on August = 2nd with another one seen on the 5th. But on the 17th, I hit the jackpot = (not a lottery I want to win). I ventured up to a spot that I rarely = go...the small meadow behind the ball field above and away from the = pond...and found large numbers of them (>12 dozen or so, including more = than 10 mating pairs). It was disturbingly easy to find places to get 4 = to 6 beetles in single photos so it appears that they're doing well = here...which is not a good thing.
